Disclaimer
Please read this disclaimer so you know exactly what ScamWise Seniors can and cannot do for you. It is honest about our limits — because honesty is the whole point of this service.
Last updated: July 2026What this disclaimer covers
This page explains the limits of ScamWise Seniors: what our ratings mean, what they do not mean, and what we cannot help with. It works together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy — you can find both under "Other policies" on this page.
Our results are a guide, not a guarantee
ScamWise Seniors gives you a helpful, plain-English opinion about whether a website may be a scam. It is a guide to help you decide — not a guarantee that a website is safe or unsafe.
How we build our ratings
Our ratings come from our own database — scam reports from the public, reviews, and checks by our team.
That approach keeps us independent, but it also means our information is only as complete as the reports we receive. A website nobody has reported yet will not show any warnings.
What we do not check
What "Not Enough Info Yet" means
What "Likely Safe" means
A "Likely Safe" rating means our records show no problems and no credible scam reports. It does not mean we endorse the website, and it is not a recommendation to buy from it or trust it with your money.
No website pays us, and no website can buy a better rating from us.
What "Use Caution" and "High Risk" mean
These ratings are our honest opinion, based on the reports and information in our database. They are not a legal finding, and they are not an accusation that any particular person has committed a crime.
We publish them to help the public take care. If we learn a rating is wrong, we will correct it.
New scams appear all the time
Not professional advice
Our information is for general guidance only and is not legal, financial, or security advice. If you need professional help, please speak to a qualified adviser, your bank, or the police.
We are independent
We are an independent information service — we are not connected to any bank, government body, or the police.
If a caller, email, or website claims to be "from ScamWise Seniors" and asks for money or personal details, that is not us — we never do that.
About reports and reviews from the public
If you own a website we list
If you own or run a website and believe our information about it is wrong or out of date, please contact us. Tell us the website address and what you believe is incorrect, and we will review it.
We correct genuine mistakes — but we will not remove honest reports simply because a website owner would prefer them gone.
Other websites
Reported scam websites are shown as plain text and never linked. Results pages may include a clearly marked link to the website you asked us to check. We are not responsible for the content, safety, or actions of any third-party website.
Losses and liability
We provide ScamWise Seniors free of charge and "as is". To the extent allowed by law, we cannot accept responsibility for money or information you lose to a scam, or for decisions you make based on our ratings.
Please treat our ratings as one helpful voice — alongside your own judgement, your family’s advice, and your bank’s guidance.
