ScamWise Seniors is a free public service that helps people — especially older adults — check whether a website may be a scam, and report scams to protect others.

These terms are the agreement between you and us about how the site may be used. Our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer sit alongside them — you can find both under "Other policies" on this page.

ScamWise Seniors is a free service that helps you check whether a website may be a scam, and lets you report scams to help others. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial use.

By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Everything here is free: checking websites, reporting scams, reading and writing reviews, and receiving scam alerts. There are no hidden charges and no paid upgrades.

We will never email you asking for passwords, PINs, or payment details, or to send money or gift cards. If someone does that in our name, it is a scam — please report it to us.

You do not need an account or password — checking, reporting, and reviewing are open to everyone.

That also means we will never ask you to "log in" or "verify your account". If an email or website claiming to be us asks for a password, a PIN, or payment details, it is not us.

When you report a website, please tell the truth and share only what you genuinely experienced or observed. Honest reports are what keep our database useful.

Reports are anonymous, and our team reads every one before anything is published.

Reviews let you rate a website with stars and describe your experience in your own words. Like reports, they are anonymous and checked by our team before they appear.

Please review only websites you have actually used or dealt with, and keep your review factual and fair.

Everything submitted to ScamWise Seniors is read by a person before it is published. We may approve, edit, or decline any submission, and we may remove published content later if we learn it is inaccurate, abusive, or unfair.

We cannot promise to publish every submission. If you would like to know what happened to yours, you are welcome to ask us.

By submitting a report or review, you give us permission to store it, edit it for clarity or safety, and publish it — always without your name, because submissions are anonymous.

Please do not include personal details about yourself or anyone else, such as full names, addresses, or account numbers.

The text, design, and database of ScamWise Seniors belong to us. You are very welcome to link to our pages, print information for yourself, and share it with friends and family.

Please do not copy our content or database for commercial use without asking us first.

To keep the site working well for everyone, we limit how often forms can be submitted, and we use anti-spam protections behind the scenes.

If someone repeatedly abuses the service, we may block their submissions.

We work hard to keep our information accurate, but we provide ScamWise Seniors "as is" and cannot promise it will be error-free or available at all times. To the extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for any loss that results from relying on our results — please always take your own care online.

ScamWise Seniors is free to use and relies on reports from the public, so there may be mistakes or gaps in our database. If you spot one, please tell us and we will put it right.

Reported scam websites are always shown as plain text — we never link to them. When you check a website yourself, the results page may include a clearly marked link to that site; whether to visit is your choice. We are not responsible for the content or safety of any outside website.

If you sign up for scam alerts, we will email you occasional warnings and updates. You confirm your sign-up by clicking a link we email you ("double opt-in"), and every scam-alert email includes an unsubscribe link.

We may change or stop the newsletter at any time. How we look after your email address is covered in our Privacy Policy.

ScamWise Seniors is a free service. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may briefly suspend the site for maintenance. We will always try to keep disruption to a minimum.

How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy — you can find it under "Other policies" on this page. The short version: reports are anonymous, we never sell your information, and we never track you across other websites.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
